Yiwu On-site Market Sourcing Service

Our long-term customers regularly come to the Yiwu market to look for new shoes, but their schedules are quite tight, with only three days available. So we planned out a schedule in advance to take them around the market. He knew Yiwu was the place, but was overwhelmed by the scale — 5 districts, 75,000 booths. He contacted Xinsa Trading for a guided sourcing trip.

The Challenge

Our customers only had 3 days in Yiwu. His list included 8 different footwear styles, and he needed to find reliable suppliers he could trust after he returned home. He also needed help with export logistics.

How We Turned 3 Days into a Strategic Visit

Pre-Trip Preparation (Before He Landed)

Two weeks before our customer’s arrival in Yiwu, our team conducted a preliminary screening based on his product list. We selected six pre-approved shoe suppliers in the shoe section of the Yiwu International Trade City, to confirm new product models in advance. We also created a schedule and booked hotel accommodations near the Yiwu International Trade City.

Day 1-2: Targeted Market Navigation

Instead of aimless walking, our senior sourcing agent, Janny, guided the customer directly to the pre-selected booths. Our role was immediate:

  1. We translated complex technical terms about rubber density and EVA molds.
  2. We negotiated MOQ from 800pairs per color down to a trial 480 pairs per color.
  3. We identified a sole quality discrepancy on the spot — a substitute material that wasn’t in the showroom sample.

 

Day 3: Factory Visit & Order Consolidation

We drove customer to a factory in Guangzhou that one of the market suppliers works with, so he could see the production line. Back in our office, we helped him consolidate all his notes into a draft Purchase Order, and we arranged a sample box of all 8 styles to be shipped to his hotel to check.

 

The Results

  • Our costomerplaced initial orders with 3 suppliers, all managed via Xinsa.
  • 0% quality issues on the first shipment, because we controlled it from the market stall all the way to the container.
  • Our customers left us a message: “We are very happy to work with Xinsa. We love the styles of the custom-made shoes, which are also very much in line with the tastes of the Moroccan people. This collaboration makes me feel very at ease.”
